London Freemasonry Lodge

If you live, work or visit London and think you may like to join a Masonic Lodge, why not consider us at the Mark Masons Hall in St James near Green Park? We are a warm, welcoming, and very active Lodge, proud of our heritage and excited about our future. The Huguenot Lodge No. 2140 was consecrated on the 10th May 1886 and continues to thrive to this day.

We are a Friendly Lodge that Meets and Dines at the prestigious Mark Masons Hall. Today, the Huguenot Lodge has built a reputation for excellent Masonic work, vibrant fellowship, and meaningful charitable efforts both in and outside of the Lodge. Our dedication to Freemasonry and our commitment to the ongoing success of the Huguenot Lodge has ensured its continued strength and vitality.

We are proud to be a younger, working Lodge—many of our members are still actively employed in a wide variety of industries. These include the building industry (with Professional Building Directors, Contract Managers, Contractors, and associated Consultants), as well as Accountants, Buyers, Catering Professionals, and Tree Surgeons, among others. We welcome Initiates and Joining Members from any background and are especially proud of our good cultural diversity.

Huguenot Lodge is open to all decent and trustworthy men aged 21 and over, and under certain circumstances, men over 18 may also be considered. Freemasonry is flexible and respects your personal commitments—there is no pressure to take on more than you wish. Tasks and roles are never forced upon anyone. Freemasonry will never ask you to place Lodge ahead of family, work, or personal priorities. It is about mutual support, shared values, and individual growth at your own pace.

Freemasonry is one of the world’s oldest and largest non-religious, non-political, fraternal, and charitable organisations. Under the United Grand Lodge of England, there are over a quarter of a million Freemasons—and approximately six million worldwide.

We meet just four times a year—on the third Wednesday in February, April, and June, and the fourth Wednesday in November, all at 4:00pm—making it easy to plan well in advance. We also hold regular Lodge of Instruction (L of I) sessions, and socially, we often enjoy a curry together in Woodford, Essex. It’s a very friendly, strong, and growing Lodge.

Your position or standing in life is not important to Freemasonry. Nor are religious beliefs, colour, or creed. At Huguenot Lodge, all suitable men are truly welcome.

Further information can be obtained from the Lodge Secretary by contacting the email address provided. Please feel free to browse our “About Us” and “Questions and Answers” sections which may address any initial queries. If you have any questions at all—no matter how small—don’t hesitate to get in touch.

We look forward to welcoming you soon.
